Replace Aeration Filters
Replace Aeration Filters
How often should you replace aeration filters? Kasco Marine recommends monthly compressor inspections and regular aeration filter replacement to enhance aeration performance and extend equipment life. Filter blockage significantly reduces compressor operation and air flow to diffusers. Failure to maintain clean air filters causes poor circulation. Poor circulation creates excessive heat and premature compressor failure. For normal maintenance:
- Unplug the unit
- Remove the filter cover and old element
- Clean the canister
- Install new filter and cover
The muffler tube supplying air to the filter may accumulate bugs or debris. Since the tube is close to the filter wall, larger debris can’t exit and must be removed physically. A gasket around the air filter is pressed very tightly and may cause friction during installation. If this occurs, grease the gasket.
