American Sport Fish is proud to unveil its latest project, Tiger Lake. This showcase lake was created to highlight the company’s expertise in pond and fishery management, offering a premier fishing destination for clients while demonstrating how to build, stock, and manage a lake for long-term success.
The project is the culmination of over 20 years of industry experience by founders Sawyer Chiles and Shawn McNulty, who share a passion for fishing and a vision to showcase their expertise. Originally a simple water-holding pond on a farm, the lake underwent a complete transformation. The American Sport Fish team drained the existing body of water and reshaped it, adding varied depths, contours, natural and artificial structures, and sand and pea gravel beds. The lake will be stocked with Florida, Northern, and Tiger Bass to monitor growth and catch rates, making it a living laboratory for fishery management.
Tiger Lake serves as a demonstration of a comprehensive consulting package that includes pond design, construction, stocking, and management. Although the lake won’t host large-scale tournaments, it’s the perfect setting for more personal events like veteran and youth fishing competitions. The project also has a strong educational focus, using the lake as a living classroom to teach about pond construction, fish habitats, and sustainable management.
