Did you know a mature willow tree may consume 100 gallons of water “per day” during summer months?  Closely manage willow growth.  Remove existing trees. Consult a dirt contractor if they’re near the dam.  Regularly pull new sprouts.  When planning trees around a pond, contact your area NRCS office.  They know which varieties thrive in your soils.  Some offices may offer trees for economical prices when used in pond management projects.
